Groundbreaking for the Panther Island Bridges was a BLAST!

"Today is the day that the Panther Island Project comes out of the ground," said Trinity River Vision Authority Executive Director, J.D. Granger. This milestone was cause for celebration and this morning, with the help of community partners, we marked the beginning of construction on the three new Panther Island Bridges with a earth-shattering ceremony. The celebration took place on the site of the future Henderson Street bridge which will span the new bypass channel. 

“This is not a bridge to nowhere,” said Fort Worth Mayor Betsy Price. “We’re digging this over dry land because it’s half the cost of building it over the channel.”

The three new bridges, which will take three years to complete, will be located on Henderson Street, White Settlement and North Main Street. They will not impact any existing bridges over the Trinity River and will
