TRWD Trinity River Trout Release This Thursday in Trinity Park

For the 27th year in a row, the Tarrant Regional Water District (TRWD) will release 2,500 trout in the Trinity River at Fort Worth’s Trinity Park. The trout release is one of many ways TRWD promotes recreation along the river, "One of the things we at the water district always like to do is to bring people down to the river," said Rick Carroll, TRWD Land & Right of Way Manager. "And so what better opportunity than to have a rainbow trout fishery in our own backyard."

Assisting with the stocking will be students from Fort Worth’s M.H. Moore Elementary School who each year assist TRWD staff in depositing the trout into the Trinity River.

Can't make this release? Fear not fine fishermen (and women!), the trout that aren't caught during the release will survive through the winter in the river. So as long as you have a pole and a valid Texas fishing license with Trout Stamp, you can hit the river and try to round up the shy ones that got away.
