Funkytown is one step closer to having a new drive-in movie theater. This week, installation began for the larger-than-life screens at the drive-in.  “We are really excited to get all three screens up this week,” said Wood, “We’ve had a lot of interest from the public about when they can enjoy our drive-in and the installation of the screens is the first step in the construction required to open next spring.”

A modern twist on an old favorite, Coyote Drive-In will be a one-of-a-kind urban drive-in movie theater located in the heart of Panther Island. Equipped with three screens, Coyote Drive-In will play first-run movie, double-features in digital format and patrons will be able to stream sound through their car radios.

“This project is an important milestone for Panther Island,” said Trinity River Vision Authority Executive Director, J.D. Granger, “As we continue to program the area the public will get a better idea of what the future looks like for this neighborhood.”
