The Trinity River Vision Authority (TRVA) is pleased to announce an agreement with Backwoods to operate a kayak concession along the Trinity River in Trinity Uptown. Backwoods will begin renting kayaks August 31 and plan to start by being open seven days a week from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. through the end of September and will reduce their hours of operation in the winter months. Backwoods will have single kayaks, tandem kayaks and canoes available for rent.

“We know projects along the Trinity River are a central driving force in Fort Worth right now and we’re excited to be a part of such dynamic change in the city we've grown to love over the past 30 years,” Tim Martin, general manager of Backwoods Fort Worth store, said. “I am confident this kayak concession will be a positive change along the Trinity, as it presents an opportunity for kayaking aficionados as well as first time kayakers to be outside and take advantage of the resources in their own backyard.”

“Backwoods has been a longtime supporter of the Trinity River Vision and we are thrilled they are increasing their presence along the Trinity River,” said TRVA Executive Director, J.D. Granger. “They have an established and well respected reputation in Fort Worth and one of their main commitments is to helping people explore the outdoors which is important to TRVA.”
