FORT WORTH, TexasCowtown Wakepark is the nation’s newest wakeboarding park, and the first one built in a downtown environment.

The wake park will be built along the Trinity River near Northside Dr. where the Trinity River Vision flood control and urban revitalization project is currently under construction. Cowtown Wakepark consulted the Trinity River Vision Authority early in their planning phase to discover ways to successfully incorporate their business into the TRV project and future plans for the trail system.

“We are so happy to welcome Cowtown Wakepark and industry leader Tony Finn to Fort Worth.  They do things the Fort Worth way. With great community spirit, they are providing free entertainment at Mayfest, as well as a new recreational facility for our entire community to enjoy,” Fort Worth’s Mayor Mike Moncrief said.  Longtime Fort Worth resident, avid wakeboarder and Cowtown Wakepark owner Tommy Fambrough has setup an advisory group that includes Tony Finn, founder of the world’s #1 wakeboard company Liquid Force to help him make Cowtown the premiere cable wakeboarding facility in the world.

“Cowtown Wakepark will be one of the shining stars of the dynamic improvements happening on the Trinity River right now,” TRVA executive director JD Granger said. “We are thrilled that the best in the field of wakeboarding have embraced Fort Worth’s vision for enhanced river-related recreation and development.”

The strong partnership behind the Trinity River Vision has played an integral part in the launch of Cowtown Wakepark in Fort Worth.

The cable park’s clubhouse will integrate with the trail system and a trailhead being built by the Tarrant Regional Water District providing restroom facilities for walkers, runners, cyclists and other trail users.

“Cowtown Wakepark is an excellent example of how the Tarrant Regional Water District works with private industry to provide great benefits to the community,” TRWD Board President Vic Henderson said. “They recognized how the floodway could provide an incredible new recreational opportunity for children of all ages to enjoy.”
