Gateway Park is located three miles east of Downtown Fort Worth.
As a result of community input gained during the City’s Master
Plan process and public meetings, the plan calls for new recreational
amenities including a splash park, an amphitheater, soccer fields,
basketball courts and new trails. The plans will spur economic
development around the park, and will restore the Riverside Oxbow
Ecosystem, which preserves beautiful 200-year-old trees and will
enhance the existing bottomland hardwood forest. Gateway Park
connects the East and Southeast neighborhoods of Fort Worth to the
Trinity River Corridor and upon completion, will be one of the largest
urban-programmed parks in the country.
